Special shout-out to Leah in the restaurants, we'll long remember her personal warmth and super professional hospitality skills. These folks seem to love their jobs - they're always smiling and happy to help. And for the trifecta: the staff is terrific from check-in, to restaurants, to help from the front desk, to the gift shop, to speedy and accurate check-out. The food at the Equinox is sophisticated and very well-prepared, including the gorgeous fruit, cheese, and champagne amenity tray. We enjoyed dinner the first night in the Chop House restaurant, pricey and absolutely worth every penny and the second night had cocktails and bar bites in the Marsh Tavern after a hearty lunch in town. as is the much-appreciated all-day coffee and tea service. It was a great choice to come to the Equinox! The accommodations are perfect: up-to-date, clean, bright, spacious and pretty rooms and public spaces are large, warm and welcoming, the blazing fires in the fireplaces a really wonderful touch during these wintry days and evenings. Last week my siblings and I took our mom for a two-night stay to celebrate her 90th birthday. If you are not going to take the time to read my reviews why send? … After carefully writing the first review, I received a second survey. ![]() I was careful in my working to highlight praise the staff as I would hate for them to take blame as there is nothing they can do to make up for the decline of the property. I took the time to answer the first review honestly and politely. But I received not just one, but TWO emails from the hotel asking for my ratings on my stay. What do you know…I never heard from anyone at the hotel concerning this…. The person at the desk said they would need to speak with a a manager, and get back with me. They did not, and I had to mention myself at the front desk. The staff should have immediately acknowledged this and offered a reduced rate. However, the second room that we were moved into was smaller than our original room and without a seating area. Had there not been a room available we would have been stuck in a room with a foul odor for three days. The staff was accommodating and was able to relocate us. Upon arrival, the first room we that we were placed in smelled. The carpets, furniture, and equipment are all dated, and in need of replacement.
